Nine years ago, I started Chobani with a totally different mindset than the big guys. I wanted to build a brand that stood for something bigger than just our product, and that made food we could be proud to share with our families.
We started with just five employees and today we’re more than 2,000 strong. Chobani has shown that food startups can make a big difference, give better options and help to strengthen our communities.
For a long time, I’ve wanted to help give other food entrepreneurs the chance to share their food with the world. That’s the inspiration behind our new Chobani Food Incubator.
More than 400 amazing food startups applied to join the inaugural class. While so many had great ideas and fantastic food, we carefully looked for the companies that could really benefit from working with us as the program gets going.
I don’t think there’s every been a better time in this country to be a food company, and the story of Chobani is proof that the food revolution is just getting started.
Today, I’m so proud to announce the first six startups to join the Food Incubator. I loved their food, their energy, their brands and their stories. Although they couldn’t be more different, each team is passionate, innovative and has a really bright future.
Banza, Chops Snacks, Cissé Cocoa Co., Jar Goods, Kettle and Fire, and Misfit Juicery—welcome to the inaugural class. I can’t wait to kick things off, roll up our sleeves, and see where the journey takes us.
